Meta's smart glasses (Ray-Ban Meta) remain one of the most-followed tech stories of 2026. Here's a quick roundup of the latest global news and exactly where Saudi Arabia stands as of this article.
Latest global news
- September 2026 (Meta Connect): Meta announced a wider lineup of 100+ frame and lens options, and launched a new audio-only model, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, focused on sound and the AI assistant with no camera or display.
- January 2026: Meta temporarily paused expanding the Meta Ray-Ban Display (the model with a small in-lens screen) outside the US due to high demand and limited stock.
- New markets: Singapore, South Korea and Mexico are now live, while Brazil and the UAE have been announced as "coming soon."
- Pricing: the second-gen Ray-Ban Meta starts globally at $379 (about SAR 1,420), and the Meta Ray-Ban Display starts around $799 (about SAR 3,000), before shipping and customs.
Where does that leave the Gulf and Saudi Arabia?
As of October 2026, Saudi Arabia has not yet been listed among the new official markets, suggesting the UAE may launch first. That doesn't mean it's unavailable entirely — online resellers import and sell units here at prices roughly between SAR 1,500 and SAR 2,700, depending on model and seller.
